SUBJ: Excel 2.1c
DATE: 06/13/90 TIME: 21:04:00
AREA: MS_EXCEL
To those of you who are installing Excel
for the first time, or upgrading to
Windows 3.0, and upgrading to Excel 2.1c...
Common Problem: First disk goes in just
fine, second disk appears to not work:
Chances are you are using Dos 4.x, or have
a hard drive that has been formatted in
larger than 32 mg partitions. In that case,
the DOS file Share.exe is being loaded.
That file needs to be *temporarily*
renamed. Call it share.xxx instead.
Check your autoexec.bat for the following:
Append
Fastopen
Graphics
Print
Anything memory resident, like menu
-- part contents for background part 10

programs, etc. Remark these lines out by adding a rem in front of the appropriate line.Check config.sys for the following:
Install=fastopen You might have instal=share, but since we are going to have you rename Share anyhow, it won't matter.
After you make the changes, reboot, and
go back through the installation again.
Also on any PS/2's -- make sure you have
the Dasddrvr.sys in the config.sys as well.
After installing:
Rename share.xxx back to share.exe.
Uncomment out the append statements.
Everything else keep out!
Sue ......................Simple, eh?
